REVIEW-

Manchester were held to a 0-0 draw at Newcastle in the Premier League but their lead at the top of the table is still a healthy 15 points. Second placed Fallowfield won 4-0 at home to Sunderland City and third placed Birmingham Albion won their local derby with Edgbaston 3-0.

NEWS

After Season 44 the Gaelic League will become two divisions of 12 clubs. The teams finishing in the bottom four places at the end of Season 44 will form part of the new second division.

European Cup competitions will be introduced for Season 45. All European clubs who win their national leagues will qualify for the Champions League. League runners-up and cup winners will qualify for the Europa Trophy, a knockout competition for other highly placed clubs. The winners of the F.F.A.Cup and the next three highest placed clubs will qualify for entry into the Europa Trophy. The winners of the Gaelic Cup and the next highest placed club in the Gaelic League will also qualify. If the Cup winners are in the Champions League their place in the Europa Trophy will be taken by the next highest placed club in the league and not the cup runners-up.

STADIUM IMPROVEMENTS- The following grounds will see increased capacities from next season: Leazes Park (Newcastle), Bute Park (Cardiff Utd), Wilmslow Road (Fallowfield), Southgate (Huddersfield Utd), Princes Park (Liverpool City), Chapelfield (Norwich Utd), Castle Hill (Ipswich Utd), Chandler's Cross (Watford Wanderers), Manchester Road (Bolton Town), Shirley Park (Croydon), Ewood Lane (Blackburn Athletic).
